Yes, block gets relieved. Google it. People even have videos.

The engine needs the actual rods and pistons it will be using installed to rotate and check if it hits the block, sometimes the cylinder walls need to be notched. With my OEM 100mm crank, Wiseco pistons, and Eagle rods, I didn't need to notch the block anywhere.

im planning on building my block and im unsure if i want to stay 2.0 or buy a oem 100mm crank and buy the strocker wiseco pistons and eagle rods... if it doesnt have any fitment issue i would rather go 2.3 than a built 2.0... thanks for ur replies

i would love to know more about this. Currently i'm using 4d68 (93mm) crank. I was thinking to upgrade it to 100mm crank to fit in the stock 4g63 block and i have a bore size of 87mm..

the block has to be grinded down a bit on the inside so that the rod's bolt at the end wont hit. not hard at all

hi guys,

i'm seriously upgrading my engine at the moment. currently my bore is 87mm and i'm using 4d68 (93mm) crank.

how good is the 100mm placement issue on 4g63 block? i understand from the previous post that on some rods u need to grind the block. What about 4g64 block? Would u suggest to do my mods on 4g64 block or 4g63? i'm building this car for drag race.

next, is there any difference in torque settings (for the main stud) if i were to use the 100mm crank vs 94mm vs 88mm ? help me please.

To build a full time drag car a flat torque or a steep torque curve is more suitable? This would somehow help me choose on which crank to use, please help

You might want to consider just building a 2.0 long rod for a full time drag car. 2.3 will give more low torque but the long rod motor will rev a lot higher and keep you in gear longer. Or you could build a 2.1 super long rod with your stock evo crank, 162mm rods, and stroker pistons inside a 4G64 block. Bump in displacement for more low end and still long rod for better rod to stroke for super high revs and top end. Best of both worlds.
