So I was getting ready to order all the seals and o rings to get the transfer case back on when I stumbled upon these....









Im not taking those bolts off at any point soon so should I be ok? As far as I know these bolts have never been off as well and it just seems odd to have a square hole there for no apparent reason. Im trying to figure out what my options are and how to proceed. Leave it as is for now? Rebuild? Replace the Case?

 

looks kinda serous. I would ring around and see if any of the shops have seen something like this before. Looks to me like they are punched from the inside as they look lifted up on the edge allmost like a tooth has been chucked around and created the window.

Is it losing fluid? looks to me that someone put it back together with the wrong bolt order. Those look to be just bolt holes...If it's not losing fluid I wouldn't worry about it.

 

Its always sealed very well and has never lost a drop.

 

Don't sweat it then. If it isn't broke don't fix it...
