Skip the shock style engine damper, I ripped mine off of the motor mount within a few weeks..

As others mentioned there is some play in the drivetrain components is nothing to worry about.

Went with the black AMS bushing and just replaced the stock bushing with it. Cheapest method and it helped cut down on the vibes/noise. Lowest durometer that they had.

I've got the same issue OP, I'm at 126k now. The drive shaft does move a good 15 degrees. Sometimes, with the clutch put it, car running, sitting in the driveway, I can put the car in 1st then reverse then back to first and it will make a metal on metal *ping* sound. I'm thinking about having the rear diff and tcase rebuilt. All engine/trans mounts look good.

any ideas why it would make the "ping" noise? From tkklemann's post it looks like the slop (15 degree movement) is somewhat normal. Are you having any other drive-ability issues, besides the slop?

I've got the same issue @ 96k. Installed a BLOX mount and got rid of about 1/2 the lash and gained a dash rattle at idle. It's only at idle that the NVH is worse though.

I'm thinking that all the bushings are cracked / dying. A little extra deflection from each one and you have a slinky.

The next step for me will be pulling and filling all the bushings I can get to with Window Weld (search 3m 8693).

I have a similar issue and have been following threads on the topic. What I have learned is that in my case, which sounds similar it could be the rear diff loading and unloading, effectively oscillating up and down.

If I get off throttle quickly, like driving in a parking lot and try to get back on, its very difficult. I get a jerking motion that increases violently and I have to depress the clutch to smooth things out.

I have the WL diff bushings and mustach bar bushings and will be changing them this weekend. If the rest of the car is running (strut revalve, and replacement cam) then I will be able to drive and report back.

I haven't heard the best thing about the driveshaft bushing based on the feedback on the posts I wrote asking about that. I haven't done the motor mount bushings, becuase there seems to be very little play in the motor/trans itself, and considerable NVH from the engine if you do go that way.

I impatiently await your report. I am going to see about getting a camera strapped to different places to see if I can get some visuals on what is happening.

Mine is very similar to yours I'm not sure if I'm just being **** or not though. Looking forward to a response.

What kind of feedback did you read on the driveshaft bushings exactly? Do you have any links? I'm just curious before I go through with a $45 purchase. I figured it was worth giving a shot instead of dropping $800 on a 2 piece aluminum driveshaft.

Maybe check your carrier bearings on the drive shaft? I would think it would clunck all the time if it were totally bad. But something else to check

I'll have to look through my recent threads to find the comments, but I was searching for things related to bucking. Which, I had on track and then went away. In that I suspected driveshaft and in a thread I was in the person who did those bushings said not to bother and do the diff bushings instead. This was then backed up by a few others on the same thread. I will look tomorrow when back at a computer.

Did you already do the diff and mustache bar bushings? I would think that is way before a new 2 piece driveshaft.

I guess I had my own quick thread on that too, with some links in it.

That is actually very little play for a driveshaft.
