Question HKS EVC 6 Overboosting....?

Well, I've been able to get away with having it installed and not setup for a month. But I recently Installed a turbosmart dual port BOV and a Perrin pod filter and now my car is boosting far too high. When I connect the standard solenoid back up, my boost returns to normal. So it shouldn't be an actuator issue.
I've also done a boost leak test, and had none.

So I'm looking to see if anyone with knowledge of HKS evc's can help me set up mine. It's an evc 6 (colour version). I'm wanting my boost set at 20psi.

Here are some pics of how I've plumed up the boost controller. I've added labels to make it easier to understand.

And here are my settings:

Were you running the stock, factory(OEM) diverter valve before swapping out to the Turbosmart BOV?l

I don't like the fact that you changed two things(BOV & Ait Filter) at once. I wish that you could have done just one change at a time. As in, do the air filter first and see whether there are any changes BEFORE doing the BOV.

Can you reinstall whatever DV/BOV that you had before the foul running episode. I would leave the Perrin filter on and just return to your original DV. I am thinking that maybe the BOV is causing your problems.

I should have said that I already swapped the standard DV back in for troubleshooting reasons and I was still overboosting, maybe 3-5psi Less though. I've set my target boost really low at 12psi, just for testing.

Can you be more specific with respect to the relative boost numbers. How high was it boosting in stock orientation. What is your desired boost peak? How highwas it overboosting with, stock solenoid vs with EVC vs with snd w/o turbosmart etc. What was the original stock boost kevek?

My boost with the standard solenoid was 18psi, and that's with or without the turbosmart Bov. I want my peak boost to be 21psi. currently with the HKS evc it's overboosting up to 30psi. When I have the stock DV on using the HKS evc, it still overboosts to 27psi

I would look at your dual port to see if you made a mistake in setup, its the thing you last changed...

The settings do not look right if the are similar to the previous version EVC, The 130% offset on your initial offset settings is too high. I would redo the initial settings, so that ini. offset equals 100%. Right now you are telling the the EVC to give you an extra 30% WG closure, to meet your desired boost. So essentially you are saying I want 10 psi, its giving you 7 psi, and you adjusted the ini offset up to 130% (which is 30% more than for any psi you give it.) to compensate for the incorrect initial setup.

That being said, I think twice, lol. If you have a 18 psi WG then you will never boost lower than that. It looks like you have 10 psi and 12 pis on one of your screen shots. It should be what ever peak psi it pushes when you drive it WOT from 3000-7500.

ahh, so my std max boost should be set at what it boosts to without the use of a boost controller. So what it's overboosting to atm? aka 30psi?
So ideally my target boost in initial setup should always be lower than the std max boost?

STD MAX is WG psi. Target boost is what boost you want I would assume higher than WG, say 20 psi? After you set those two, look at you peak boost to see if it meets what your target boost is, if it is higher or lower you can adjust it with the ini. offset BUT, what I have done in the past is just reset the controller to make STD boost more or less to get the ini offset as close to 100% as possible. This way when you dial in 25 psi, it IS 25 psi.

Alright, so I've set my std max boost for 14psi(researched standard WG pressure)
and set my target boost to 20psi, and ini offset at 100%. I'll go do a pull now and see how it goes.

Okay, double check your dual port, WG, and vacuum source, and the vacuum hose connections for peace of mind...

I done a boost leak test and fixed a few slight leaks. Set my WG pressure to 14psi, and target boost to 17psi. I also set a warning for 25psi and set a boost drop if it hits warning to -5psi. My car is still boosting to 25psi...
I'm so confused as to why it's doing this.

I'm pretty sure this whole issue comes down to my initial setup Std.MaxBoost.
So maybe if someone could tell me what they have their StdMaxBoost setting set to. Using a stock actuator, I can fix this issue.
