opinions on my catback exhaust

what you think of my catback? its 3" all the way 3 resonators, a muffler across the back and then a varex muffler out the back........restrictive much??? think it could be stealing hp???? im on a fp black setup on 33 psi and wont crack 500hp mustang vdr

I do not know how resonators and mufflers affect performance but judging by the way the exhaust is routed I would say it might be causing unwanted back pressure.

I am not familiar with how a typical evo VI exhaust system needs to be routed however the less bends the better.

^+1, I'm running a straight 3" with test pipe, I'd like to see the difference between flow and back pressure. You're definitely quite a bit more resticted than me, like the person above said any bend and any res pipe/muffler will make more back pressure which is what you don't want on an FB black turbo setup.

I highly doubt your exhaust is restricting you to pass 500.

What is your fuel system setup?

Reason for all those mufflers etc is too keep it quiet and yes evo 6 exhaust to bend across the back like that.....

I agree that I dont think his exhaust is limiting him to 500hp; that is not what I intended. What I was getting at is that the exhaust routed as such is reducing his power potential relative to using a straighter more free flowing design.

My post wasn't directed towards you heel2toe.

evoyrran: Looking at your old posts you are doing this with pump gas? If it is on pump gas then I think you are pretty much at your limits until you switch to race gas/e85 or inject alcohol.

Na it's on e85..... Didn't really gain much on e85 that's why I'm on here tbh.... It made good power up untill 31psi then didn't wanna make anymore power as we raised the boost..... So as it stands its at like 490hpish on 31-33psi.... It should keep making power as we put the boost up

Is the valve in the varex muffler opening ?

Buschur tested 2 mufflers (straight flow through) vs 1 muffler and there werent any loss of power. Well, he did have 2 or 3 hp peak difference which could just be random error, temperature change, something mechanical etc....
