oil in exhaust

alright so i have a evo 9.
GT30r with complimenting mods tuned on speed density.
the past couple of days I've noticed there is a lot of oil inside the exhaust tip.
the car also smokes only when coming to a stop. its white smoke, not blue.
the head gasket is fine i looked into that already.
car doesnt overheat and still has all power.
there is no oil in my intercooler pipes.
minor shaft play in the turbo.
i haven't had the chance to take the turbo off too see if it is the turbo seals.
that is my guess (turbo seals) but i thought the car would blow out blue smoke the whole time while driving and also not have pretty much pure unburt oil make it all the way to the exhaust tip.
could this possibly have something to do with crankcase pressure or what?
i'm stumped and would appreciate some help from the evo community!
thank you in advance fellas!!

I think he meant "does it consume oil?"

Pull the valve cover and inspect the valve seals. Half of my exhaust valve seals popped off the valve guides and let oil pretty much pour down the vales. I bought the EuroXport tool for the job. Made it easy.

The reason I asked is because of your location. I remember the joke about how they could prove there was intelligent life in outer space. If the engine oil is staying up it could be water condensing out in a cold exhaust system and mixing with soot.

sounds about right. my exhaust looks like that sometimes from the condensation mixing with soot. I myself cant think of what else it would be from what the op said

I origanally thought this was it, but it's straight oil. I'll take a better look at it today now that I have some sun here

But would this oil cause oil to leak right out of the turbo and skip the intercooler??

came to the conclusion that its the turbo seals....pure oil in exhaust and blueish white smoke...

Turbo seals most likely do you have oil in your inter cooler piping as well?

Nope nothing. That's why I'm still not sold on turbo seals.

Is it possible that only the hot side seal is leaking and dumping straight into the exhaust system. I think if it was leaking on the intake side it would be found in your intercooler piping prior to entering the engine and being burned. The fact it isn't burned oil makes me wonder if its a leak after combustion.

Yea it's deffinetly leaking after combustion. But as for example yesterday I drove it and there wasn't any smoke and there wasn't any oil in the exhaust...

I just had this same issue. Come to find I'm running rich. In colder weather it will smoke bad, but in weather like 50 degrees + it would run like a charm. Have you logged it yet? Worth a shot.
