Info on Ported Manifolds

Just wondering what i should pay for a ported intake and exhaust manifold.

Both getting it done or just buying one that is all ready done.

If you are going to take the time and spend the money to have your intake manifold done, you need to have your throttlebody ported at the same to see worth while gains. Also, you might want to have the exhaust manifold coated, to keep engine temps down.

I just recently purchased a stock exhaust and intake manifold and a stock TB from Wayne (previous owner of PPI, reputable shop that did porting/coating). He had the exhaust manifold Swaintech coated and he ported everything out very well. All in all, it ran me $700. That was with the cores. So if you sent in your own cores I would imagine it to be considerably less.

Hope this helps

Next time you go for a drive, take a look at all the heat pouring out of your hood vent. A good coating will make this wave of heat rolling out of your hood non-existant.

Even with temperatures very close to zero, I've had a hot engine bay. Trust me, the coating is worth it. You could spray it with some VHT heat resistant coating from like autozone, but it won't be as effective.

There are many types of coating, but most of them do the same thing. The big name coatings are Swaintech and JetHot.

If your going to send it out to be ported many places do them such as STM and Curt Brown. Prices may vary but expect to pay around 100-200 per item being ported
