Weird leak and weird smell

Few weeks ago I found out that there was few oil around the drain plug while I started the car in the morning. Also, there was few oil dropped on the floor. But it wasn't smell like engine oil. I tried to re-tight the drain plug and clean everywhere underneath of my car. During few days after, I didn't find anything like that happened. However, what I found on last Friday was that there were still few oil on the drain plug and the area around it while I parked my car in the parking lot. Then I cleaned it a bit and test drive it and try to find out where is the leaking at. Then what's worse I smell something plastic burning around the intake manifold. Anyone get ideas about it?

Guess you could try the dye and then trace the leak yourself. It's a lot harder without a lift though.
Have you ever separated the transfer case from the car?
Also, did you replace the drainplug washer?
