05 EVO VIII 60k great condition but clicking? FML
So here are the facts. I drive the car conservatively, I don't race or drive it aggressively.
I let my friend drive it against an Si hb. Apparently he launched it, what ever the hell that means. Raises the rpm to 4k and releases the clutch from a dead stop.
40yds or so later or when ever he touches 7k rpm he changes to 2nd gear, then he misses 3rd gear but what I noticed at that point was an ever so faint clicking noise coming from out side of the car since the windows were down. He said he didn't hear it. Maybe he's not trying to acknowledge it.
Anyways, its VERY faint, its more prevalent when tourer in a higher gear and allowing it to coast. Is very obvious then. I drive it about 10 miles after this happened, all gears engage fine but this idiot did something to cause the repeated clicking noise which was never there.
The car is also pretty much sold to someone and I'd hate to give it to them like this. I gabber no idea what it is, could it be the transfer case? Fly wheel? Maybe the timing belt is causing the clicking as you're driving? But the fact that's its more prevalent and noticeable in a higher gear as you coast is puzzling.
Any directions potential trouble areas?

Where is the clicking noise coming from? Is it coming from the engine? Can you pinpoint it, it could be lifters ticking although it also could be something much worse. Take a video and post it up if you can.
Its sounds like its coming from underneath the car. I'm taking it to a shop today. What's the wise that could happen if someone launched it? Obviously the car still got me up to highway speeds on the freeway and back home and it shifted thru all of the gears but now it has an so sought clicking noise
