Exclamation Oil leak?

So I was cruising like I usually do. I like to hear the sound of my BOV, so I step on it just a little bit between shifts, I don't even reach 5-10 psi. All of a sudden I hear what I think is the sound of metal hitting metal. I had the windows down so I wasn't able to figure out if it was from my engine bay or from the streets somewhere. Anyhow, I stop at the lights, thankfully I was just a minute away from home, when all of a sudden I smell the distinct odor of oil and slight smoking coming out of the hood. I rushed home, opened the hood, looking for a leak somewhere but couldn't find anything obvious. After looking very carefully I found some oil on the block just below the turbo. I had the car off at this point and waited until it cooled down to crank it again. Once I cranked it there was no oil dripping on the block or anything, I even revved it so there would be some spool, but no dripping of oil whatsoever.

Anyone have any idea where this oil could have come from? And is it serious or not?

Thank you.

Lift up the front end and check the oil return and feed lines to the turbo. While your down there check to see if any bolts are missing as well. Oil leaks can lead to big problems obviously, but I'm wondering what that metal on metal sound was. Did it sound like something grinding or something hitting another piece?

Will do. The sound I heard was like something being pushed with a lot of pressure and then hitting another metal.. You know like a nail gun or something... I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Haha, I promise you I don't intentionally write like this, it's just the way I was taught to write I suppose. Anyways, that's besides the point. Would you happen to have any constructive theoretical solutions to my dilemma?

Check your turbo return line most likely it's where the oil leaks
