I havent seen my rad fan come on in a while.....
I had my car over heat the other day on track and now im thinking it may be fan related issue.
My ac fan has been removed and my AC is out of the car as well.
But i just noticed that my rad fan never turns on on idle or even after hot runs.....
I have CBRD rad with aftermarket fan. What couldve gone wrong here?
Is there a way to test my fan to see if its broken?
THanks

Number one check your fuses, then check your relays. Then supply 12v to it and see if it turns on. Or see if there is a setting in tephra to turn the fan on and off. Check your grounds. See if the temperature being reported to the ecu from the sensor is accurate. Check fan on/off parameters. If all that checks out ok, start looking for broken wires.
all good stuff-
yes- certainly hook the fan directly up to voltage-
we have seen issues with the oem fan controllers and now tend to hook alot of the cars up with a temperature controlled thermostat that runs off a relay/the battery- so its independent- you also get much higher flow-

If its over heating "on track", I assume you are talking road race track...you have another issue than the fan. Moving at high speed will put enough air flow over the rad to cool it, having a fan on will not add more air flow when doing 50+ MPH. Most race cars do not have rad fans because they restrict flow at high speed.
rev the car to 3000 RPM for 3-5 min and see if the fan comes on, or check you ECT and see what it actually is doing.

the other thing to check- if its an active cooling issue-
is your radiator cap-
we are finding evo after evo now with weak radiator caps- whether it be on a koyo, mishi, our rads, or oem-
they will purge into the overflow and most people dont realize it-
we have fixed quite a few cars that way-
