Hey just wondering I'm looking at a fp black turbo for a good price but it doesnt have a wastegate? Was wondering would a evo 9 wastegate work and hold the fp black?

Also just as a side kicker can someone find the thread to modify the 255 walbaro.

 

yes, a stock wastegate would work, but should be upgraded if you plan on boosting over 25psi.

 

what would happen above 25? Just wondering =)

 

It wont hold the boost as well at higher rpm. basically, you will lose some power at top end.

 

Basically, the stock MHI IX actuator works fine with the stock IX turbo at stock boost levels (17-22#). Off the top of my head,the internal spring in the stock actuator is a 10-12#(approx) piece matched with a correspondingly weak internal diaphragm.
