Question Evo 7 Boost cut! HELP!

Mods I have GFB TMS RESPONS, Apexi intake & test pipe stock exhaust... This was happening before my apexi intake was fitted... My bov is a little notch open probably 1cm -3 cm, as in venting to atmosphere... 90-95% recirculating & 5% - 10% atmosphere... It happens on full boost just about maybe 2nd but more likely on 3rd, 4th & 5th gear, generally 3rd would cut out quite violently at around 4,000rpm, then come back on full throttle & may happen the second time then continue on... Maybe it needs a tune? Possibly the only way to help probem...

U have a boost controler?if so try lowering it, because you may be over boosting if you dont try doing a boost leak test and yes a tune will help if you havent done so. Hope this helps you.

My mechanic pulled out the factory boost controller hose that restricts the car from boosting more & fixed the problem, it runs of the actuator now...

11-12psi is all your going to get if your vacuum lines(without the restrictor pill in) are connected directly to thr wastegate

they run stock boost around 19psi yeah? I have the same problem about the boost cut, when people are in the car and it happins it scares the **** out of them... and me really, i would say it would be doing bad things to the drive line all that julting around... apparently mine is over boosting due to my exhaust not tuned to my car and i think i may have a boost leak too.. will be getting it tuned asap and try squeeze some more power out of this thing

Yeah I just checked & it looks like the hose is out from the boost solenoid i think... Is this bad thing to do?

I would make sure your boost pressure solenoid is hooked up properly before jumping to any conclusions. If it is hooked up correctly and you do have a restricter pill in I would bet it's the test pipe causing you to hit higher load limits. I would get tuned if I were you.

Just get it tuned. Install a 3 port boost solenoid and drive with it unplugged to the tuner (or plug it in but stay off boost).

Also gate pressure is not stock boost, it's much lower. Stock is ~18psi peak on a 7, gate is around 10psi.

I'm gathering all the parts then getting a tune once all is installed etc, that will be soon maybe in a couple months.. It does feel like the car is boosting less but drives fine, is there another way I could run my stock boost without a tune or no other way?
