Thermostat clamp

Thermostat clamp failure
...so a guy called me from Mitsu corporate in CA and tells me that the build date on my car (May 2003) matches several other cars where this clamp has failed---see attached pic assuming I uploaded it correctly.
Apparently, they want me to bring the car in and they are gonna remove the thermostat and hose en bloc to be replaced with a new one. They are then gonna ship this joker to japan where the clamp can be load tested.
Anyone else had this kind of call?
The dealer is gonna kick in a free oil change though I don't trust em with my baby. This'll be the first time it's been in there for anything (I do the maintenance).
