Evo xi mr

Hopefully this Thread is in the right place!

I recently purchased a evo 9 mr with 60k miles first time ever sitting in an evo and driving it was the day i purchased it. (after the paper work was done) crazy right...

Anyways i've noticed the idle is a lil sporadic sometimes, it'll sit at 2.5k, 1k or normal idle around 800 or so. (when the car is warmed up) or it'll just jump up and down sometimes. The car is untuned, Im guessing this cuz it has a cat-back exhaust and throws a P0.... code. It was for the 02 sensor and voltage. goes off and on. my buddy says when i get in boost some black smoke comes out the back. running rich?

I'm very picky about whats put on my car and how it runs. So I'm trying to put everything back to stock or just upgrade whats been put on so I know its quality vs. ebay if it ever was.

I just wanna know where do I go from here? what do I keep, What do I replace, What needs to go back to stock. to make this car run pristine again while still having fun.

Current mods: that ive found...
Cat-back exhaust
manual boost controller (looks like it has htp or some lettering on it)
forge bov or dv not sure... (flutters and whistles, sounds like crap and not my style)
lower and upper ic pipping.
1 gauge. (boost gauge) goes past 1.5bar I turned it down to 1 till I learn more about the car.

A tune. That's all you need really. Just a solid tune.

I'd change the bov personally to a greddy, synapse, or something that's known to be good with part throttle.. Even oem metal one.

Will the oem dv hold over 25psi? I've seen posts where people say if you're going over 22 you should replace it.

Some say higher some say lower IMHO I just changed it for something else.

I'm partial to something with adjustment. That was a greddy for me.
