Evo IX Studdering

For lack of a better word whenever the car is in wide open throttle there is a slight delay followed by a jump up of around 5-600 rpms then a jump down 100 rpms then a steady climb of the engine. I tried changing the spark plugs thinking that was the issue, it made it less intense but the issue still persists. I'm doubtful of boost leak, but I can't figure out what it might be. Any info would be very appreciated.

Info on the car its mostly stock with an intake and exhaust as the engine mods.

what are your spark plugs gapped at? wondering if you are getting some spark blowout. Try gapping them to something tighter like 0.022" and see if that helps.

So how about the tune? you have one done yet with your mods? Could easily be hitting the load limit causing cut out momentarily.

I agree with both of these. I see this a lot from customers when the weather gets cooler. You enter into a higher load and/or psi and boost cut hits. When it hits the first time it's like

If you're not tuned yet then I'd highly recommend getting tuned. Regardless if you go through remote tuner like me or a shop, I'd recommend getting a wideband, 4 bar map sensor and a tactrix cable and learn to log so you can see what's going on. I think all car enthusiast should log!

to the point about boost cut...I vividly remember tuning boost (before I knew there was a load limit enabled fuel cut), and what it felt like when I finally hit it. My god I thought I blew up the engine! I about smacked my face on the steering wheel.

to the OP, if it's a violent shake/jolt...it sounds like boost cut is your issue, if it's softer and the car just pulls less, it's probably missfires or pulling timing because of some knock.

Interesting, thanks for all the advice so far check on all of that tomorrow, any chance it could be the clutch slipping? The problem's getting worse as well, happening in all gears and not only in WOT, hopefully one of these will be the solution.
