if you have to ask why then these are not for you. like i said these are not for everyone. but the people who understand its purpose or want the look will want these.

galling.
it wont happen if you take the proper care of them. the reason things gall is because people over trq, use power tools, no or improper thread lubricant. use hand tools, correct trq specs ''same as OEM'' and proper anti galling lub and they will last for ever. i have used Ti on manifold nuts and other stuff which see way more heat then these axle nuts will ever see.

some updates. no i can not get these colored. cost and time is just to much and i am not putting out that type of coin for something i dont even want nor am making money on.

weight savings. if my ****ty scale weighed the stock nut and washer all 4 are 1LB. the Ti nut and waster will weigh 1/2LB. which is rotational weight. lots of guys do not run center caps so these will also look pretty nice. again if these does not make sense to you or that you feel it is pointless then they are not for you. but for the guys looking to shed every bit they can, be somewhat original, and have something limited this will appeal to them. or i will have the only set ever made. it doesn't bother me.

In terms of oxidation, see previous statement for inert layer.

I am unaware of any corrosion mechanisms that would cause this to be a bad idea.
Thank you for your helpful and intelligent post! Nice to know the internet is not a complete write-off. So using anti-galling lube when installing should help prevent the oxides from being broken or wiped away?

Also, in response to MechTech's post, these fasteners are not for "bling" or showing off. The cost is definitely not good bang for your buck if that is what you are looking for.

Update.

We will be putting a special coating on the nuts and washers. This coating makes the hardware look more professional and makes it more gall and corrosion resistant. But we still recommend the anti gall club anyways. Its just added protection for you

I am pretty sure that if I got these, it would be the first step into an Evodan land.

Yeah they aren't for me personally. It's not something I've seen before or heard of anyone doing so props there. Anything titanium is cool.

Ugh... I was thinking about it... If I do this, I then have to:
  • get lighter weight wheel spacers
  • get lighter weight wheel lugs
  • buy all of the weight reduction items that are <$320 per pound

That is a long road to driving myself insane.

we are at 11 people now. i am sending payment in on 01-01''Wednesday''2014. if anyone who has paid has an issue with that date please let me know and i can send it in sooner. i just wanted to give some more time. i am getting a lot of PM's for these. but that date is the dead line. also i am getting a price on little cups of the anti gall stuff. before i collect the last payment's and shipping i am going to ask everyone if they want one. i am just waiting to here back on the price. if i recall i paid 6 bucks or something. but i will let you guys know. i was told with the special coating being used it is not needed but is still a good idea to use it. so that means use it for added protection.

as for lighter spacers and lugs i find the hibatchi ''or whatever there called'' are the lightest when you remove the studs that come with them.

CBRD makes the lightest Ti lug nuts available i believe at 16 or 18grams. fully threaded open ended. there 2.x lbs lighter then stock. aluminum would be lighter but i would not use them and spacers.

so you have until then to decide. like i said this is a 1 time deal. so if it is something you want jump on board. it is not for everyone but for the guys who see the need it means they are cool. so if you want to be cool then do it.

On the note of Ti lugs, last I heard CBRD wasn't making them anymore. But I know TWM, the shifter people, have started making them
