please help before i have my pumps!, to tune tommorow
please help before i have my pumps!, to tune tommorow
hey guys i need some quick tips..
ok my car made 751 on a 6266 on e85, with 2200 IDs. i bought the AMS 1000HP kit which comes with 2 255.... one in tank and one inline....
now the issues that i had was that the tuner told me he cant go above 34 psi because the pumps didnt keep up... now its ok i already knew i was not going to make more than 750.
heres some suggestions i got. take the inline filter element off fromt he fuel lab, and try it (not a fan of that)
replace the element filter completly with a 40 micron filter (purchased, but not gonna install yet)
other was replace the pumps with 2 400s. one in tank and a 044bosch inline.
now AMS told me a tip, they said to take the 255, and get the walbro e85 pump, which i think its a 400. and stay with the 255 inline.
i did get the wally e85 pump, but i want to know if this might help before i hack my hanger to tune tommorow again.
this is what i was thinking. the 400 intank would feed the 255, but dont you think it will create a funnel and restrict me anyways? any tip would help. i will be upgrading later on, but now on hand i have a wally e85 pump. im shooting for atleast 780, or max out my 6266BB.
just for your info the lines from the kit i think are plenty for return and feed
anyone?

The 400lph pump in tank and the 255lph inline will work just fine for your setup and not restrict anything. I'm just amazed you made 750 @ only 34psi. Keep us updated on final numbers.

updating this. went back to the dyno, and still pumps die at 34 psi... now the changes i made where, i cut the pump insides where there a paper filter looking thing... basically the pump hanger is bare. only the pump sits inside. so far my fuel pressure raised 10 psi just at idle. so we will see if this will help my problem once i go back on the rollers
