Anyone heard anything about SI valves? The shop called when i was at work and told me they were using these. When i did research and didn't find much, i told them to use supertech ones, but it was too late, the machine shop had already installed them.

Looks like they only do OEM replacement valves, which should be fine, but I haven't heard of them before. You might just be the first guinea pig for those valves in the Evo world!

Yeah I saw a couple people here put them in their engine, but never any reviews. How much work would it be for a machine shop to swap valves? let's say i still want to go with supertech. Since it's really bothering me the unknown factor of these SI valves.

Factory sodium filled exhaust valves have a lifespan. We have seen issues past 150k on the stock valves.

That being said there are numerous companies that have severe duty valves for sale. We run off the shelf GSC valves in the Eclipse Drag car that runs 8.07.

Thanks, all aftermarket valvetrain in my car is GSC (S2 cams, springs + retainers), for the exception of these SI valves. Ever heard anything about them and do you think they would be fine for running anything below 500whp? I'm currently at 400whp.

Thank you.

So I emailed SI valves about the type of alloy used on both intake & exhaust valves and this was their response.

"The Evo valves will support your application no problem, They are both made from 1 piece
EV-8 Stainless Steel....Both have Hard Tips, and a Black Nitirde coating for stem wear and heat
resistance...."

I researched the EV-8 stainless steel and seems to be a good alloy for valves.

I guess i can sleep a little better now lol.
