its a buschur built 2L block and head. Stroker is not an option at the moment unfortunately

Im only making it about 500 rpm faster though... i would like to see 1000rpm faster
You should see 500-1000 RPM faster spool increase with an FP Red and still maintain the power of the FP Black

It's BBK-BB which is Billet Blue Kompressor - Ball Bearing

Im thinking pump though.. red may be the better option at that point

thats what i was thinking...... maybe i just need to suck it up and go E85
If you have access to E85 then don't even think of having a second thought. Go for it NOW! The gains are tremendous. The only tip I would give is get a fuel system that will allow you to use E85, and do some regular cleaning maintenance on your fuel system like running 93 pump gas or any other certified cleaning agents.

What are you talking about? Are you speaking in general or for the FP Black in particular or what exactly?

That would do it

http://www.full-race.com/store/turbo...7mm-turbo.html

I tuned a basic 300sx in a T4 1.0AR housing. Make well over 500whp on pump gas and hit full boost right around 4600(30psi)

This turbo would spool faster, have great pump gas characteristics with the T4 TS, and pack one hell of a punch at 64b/min

Not much out there better than the Black in stock form. But there is always some left on the table...

In general. Everyone wants big power and no lag. There were cars that had a big turbo and supercharger but nothing for the evo. I've been wanting more power but the lag keeps me away from upgrading.

CBRD BBK-BB-B is a stock frame turbo. The power won't be far off of a black (LOL, I was thinking a red) at 56-57lbs/min but the spool is awesome and the transient response is tops.....
Can't wait for mine to be done.....on a 2.3 it should spool really fast!
I am hoping for 450+on a MD on pump so I don't think you would give up to much power.....

If you have full boost on a black at 4000 rpm you are really working that thing hard. You won't see that huge of an improvement by going ball bearing. Everyone expects miracles and it doesn't work that way. The biggest improvement would be to add displacement or go smaller turbo and change fuel.

I'm on an EF 4 (similar to a journal black) and I see full boost at roughly 4500 as logged on a map sensor and that is a fast spooling large bolt on turbo. It took a lot of work to get it to spool at that quick.

Good luck but getting a 500+ pump gas turbo that spools less than 4k RPM is going to be near impossible on pump and a 2.0. Hell I think you'll struggle getting better than a 4k full boost on a black with a 2.3/2.4

Just FWIW Power per lb of boost is often over looked. Everyone just looks at a peak psi and RPM.

I just finished this pump gas tune on the dyno(made 456/370Tq on a mustang dyno) and took a log on the way to get E85. Gas light was on so I wasn't going to take it to redline but with torque that flat it was on its way to make well over 500whp.

I think that borg in a better housing would make more torque before peak boost and essentially the same torque curve, just higher of course with more power gains. You can get a Full-Race or ETS header and gates with a borg turbo and be sitting at your goals with not much out of pocket if you can sell the black.

2.3L, JB Green, E85 making 500hp here at 35psi. On 91 (crap Cali gas), I back it down to about 28psi and get about 450hp. Peak PSI is at 4k RPM.

The turbo is starting to go so debating about my next 'upgrade'. Debating on just replacing it with a BB Green for a little faster spool with same HP. Would a White be up or down from the green in terms of HP? Spool?
