Perrin exhaust owners need your advice

Hello to all Perrin exhaust owners.

I recently purchased the perrin catback and downpipe.

I first must say that this is some of the finest exhaust components I have ever seen, very beefy piping fully polished with 1/2" thick flanges, with a perfect fit.

I only had time to install the catback, so right now I have a totally stock car with cat and perrin catback and the vishnu xflash programming (for a stock car).

I took a small trip with my girlfriend yesterday, it was pretty hot outside (70-80deg) in san francisco area.

The exhaust has a perfectly quiet idle, unfortunately once boost kicks in (3000-5000rpm) this is when the exhaust emits a loud boomy drone (almost sounds like a boat accelerating). The worst part is when I am cruising on the freeway (75-85mph) the exhaust constantly emits this boomy drone and it is really annoying.

Are you guys experiencing this as well? I've put about 300 miles on this exhaust and it really hasn't changed in sound. It could be that since vishnu did raise the boost over the factory with the xflash, but I really think it's the big 3" muffler making the noise.

Do you guys think I should swap? is there an exhaust that doesn't make this boomy bassy sound?

Thanks for your feedback,

Steve
