Which intake pipe and boost controller?

Hi. I recently picked up and Evo 9 fq340 and am planning on getting it mapped. I'm going to check if it's got a walbro in it because the old owner said it's mapped but I have no proof of that. also it's got a decatted 3" turbo back. I've done the airbox mod and have cut out the back of the airbox and I've going to give it a cold air feed, and it's got an aftermarket filter in it, and I was just wondering what intake pipe I should use with the standard airbox? also what boost controller I should get? I'm not looking for anything too fancy, just something that does the job properly

All opinions appreciated

Thanks

I recommend the GrimmSpeed Electronic boost controller, as far as intake, replace that stock box with any aftermarket intake. I use an AEM Intake, but there are other options such as K&N, and Injen... pick whichever one looks better to you.

Get a Perrin or Grimmspeed MBC or a 3 port Grimmspeed EBC. As for the airbox, you can just leave that alone. You're fine for around 400hp with the factory airbox and you're better off with a full air intake (K&N cone filter + pipe) rather than just a pipe.

Cheers fellas, I'll look into them boost controllers. As for the intake, the only reason im sticking with the standard airbox modified is because I was told for the level of tuning I'm doing id be better off with the airbox because i won't have such a problem with heatsoak like I would with a cone filter. If I'd be better off with a full induction kit id get one of them?

Hallman Pro's are what we run in all of our cars, they work great!

That's basically the same 3-port that everyone uses Grimmspeed, I think, use larger nipples or something like that, not sure, but they modify it I think.

Plus the Grimmspeed one looks nicer...

Yes that's the one, though this is quite expensive, and that's without shipping. You can probably get it for cheaper.

Read your post wrong. Our intake pipe will not fit w/ factory air box. We do have the Grimmspeed in stock though if you can't find one.

Thanks!

Alright fellas. I think I'm pretty much set on the grinmspeed controller, it seems to be what im looking for, but some comments here and on other forums have got me wondering if I'm doing the right thing by keeping the airbox? I'm not going to be doing forged internals or anything like that so I'll only be doing the pretty standard bolt-on mods, so would I be better off sticking with the modded airbox or should I go all the way and get myself a full induction kit? I'm just looking to squeeze a good bit of power out of the engine and then leave it at that. I heard heatsoak is more of an issue with an open cone and because I'm not after crazy power I'd be better off with the airbox with a separate cold air feed for the new hole I've made in it?

Any opinions appreciated
