Poll: Balance shaft removal and mileage input please

Looks like this will be my next step, so I was hoping to get a poll of what everyone has and how it's been for them.

Which balance shaft removal kit do you have?

How many miles?

What kind of driving mainly? Daily driver? Track? Drag?

Any failures?

Thanks in advance guys.

*supposed to be Mitsu, not Mitdu.*

I would also add if they did a fluiddamper for harmonics when eliminating the shaft. I just installed my engine with an AMS shaft in it. Debating on the harmonic balancer over the stock unit.

I used gsc with the fluidampr.

My motor was also balance from crank to flywheel.

Smoother than stock imo

- OEM stubby
- 6K so far
- Daily with minimal drag / auto cross, don't get me wrong though, I do like 7500 rpm land
- Nope, nothing wrong but some weird harmonics amplified by my mounts.

With a 2.23L 4G64 and a Fluidampr crank pulley.

My OEM motor, with OEM balance shaft spun a balance shaft bearing at about 60k or a little less. Great maintenance it's entire life. Had a couple autox's and drag strip trips at near stock power, rest DD.

Bottom line: they can fail at any power level or use

2.4 has about 10-15k on the build with the OEM stubby. No issues with oil pressure

With balance shaft removed, do you feel more vibration around 4k to 5K rpm ?

I removed the balance shafts on my eclipse 95 and I didn't like the feeling, there was a lot of vibration arount 4500 rpm and I felt it from the floor and the pedal.

It is so bad on a evo without balance shaft ? (4G63 or 4G64).

I have a 2.4 with OEM stubby shaft and just under 10k miles. No issues thus far.
