Stalling while driving
Stalling while driving
Here's a situation that has honestly stumped me.
I swapped my Evo 6 RS ecu for an Evo 8 2003 ecu. I did the proper wire swaps so the radiator and condenser fans are switching on and off correctly. I've also disconnected pin 87 according to the guide. I'm running tephra v7 universal.
Now, twice in the last 7 days I've had the car stall on me while driving. Obviously with the clutch out, in gear, the engine will restart itself... but here's where I'm lost.
Apparently mitsubishi ecus post 1996 don't use the same leaky dsm caps, so I can 80% rule this out.
My AFR gauge is not reading strangely in either direction when this happens.
The entire car loses power momentarily when this happens too. As in, accessory one and two are losing power.
My CEL is illuminating when it happens but I'm not sure if it's a result of the ecu restarting or if it's actually throwing a code. Evoscan shows nothing. I'm leaning toward either the ecu itself or one of the engine sensors. I'm thinking it might not be the maf because there are no fuel changes.
The car is wired with a viper 5704 remote start alarm, and has been for the last 7 months without issue.
Any ideas? I haven't got a chance to capture it on a log yet. But I'm kinda hoping it becomes more frequent for that purpose alone.
