hi i just want to install a hks cam for 264in/264ex and did i need to change the valve spring,cam gear and ecu ,becuase i see a lot of people just install the cam only and everything is fine,but some people said if change the cam for 272/272 it need to change a lot of thing to help safety is that true
and one more thing if i just change the fuel pump did it will gain Horsepower .

you don't need springs for 264 or 272, but I would recommend an ECU reflash

 

Dude dont change the fuel pump unless you have the supporting mods its not gonna give you any more HP than you have right now.

Spend the money on a boost controller, cams, exhaust and a reflash. Then if you need to add the fuel pump with the cams and flash do it.

 

You don't have to upgrade the springs but it is a good Idea too. Put it this way it is needed but it isn't a must so it depends on how picky you are personally or your personal opinion. Myself I am going to purchase springs with the cams thus being why I haven't upgraded the cams yet. Remeber the object of the game is to build up a motor that will generate alot of HP but it also has to hold together with any personal doubt so you can use the HP.
