2 issues going on here.

1) The ac only blows cold air when set on 4. It doesnt even blow anything at all on 1,2,3

2) When down shifting into 2nd no matter what the scenaro or speed if the AC is on the car dies. Just completely dies.

The car runs absolutely perfect with no issues what so ever.

If you're driving with the ac off turn it on and go to second same crap.

Any clue?

Sounds like you may have 2 issues that may or may not be related to one another. The blower motor may be the issue if it only works when the position is moved to the highest speed or the switch. The downshift into second cane possibly that the ac compressor is locking up and causing the vehicle to shut off. Disconnect the power going to the ac compressor and try it and see what happens, if it does not shut off then it is a compressor lock up issue. Good luck.

 

I honestly haven't a clue about the second gear A/C on dying crap, but the lack of fan speed except for highest setting sounds like blower motor resistor. The resistor is just that...it will create a resistance in the voltage supply to the blower motor, thereby reducing it's output. The reason it still works in the highest setting is because it receives full battery voltage, eliminating the resister in this position.

 

I'll be for sure trying this out on Sunday.

The AC does now magically seem to work in all settings. The 2nd down shift thing however isnt solved.

Maybe im just a idiot and the ac always worked and just sucks cause its so damn hot out here in texas. But none the less the car does always die in second when the ac is on.
