ok let me just go ahead and say that i am dumb, by acting stupid in this nice of a car. Tonight on the way home from the local cruise spot. i played around with my buddies mustang. We rolled from 4th gear and i stayed in the gas for a lot of 5th, all of a sudden i noticed sparks not a flame comming out of my exhaust, and i know that it was my exhaust because the stopped when i let out of it. the mods i have are buschur full 3" turbo back with cat delete, boost controller(19psi)air filter from lancer shop, grounding kit. I have no idea what this could be, and the car still has all its power, and it quit sparking right after it happened. any suggestions? tommorrow im gonna look at the turbo wheel. also i need to get an egt guage asap.

Did you see sparks in your rearview mirror, or did some one else see sparks from the exaust? Was there a funny sound?

thanks for the replys, um no strange sounds and no loss in power even while it happened. i pulled the plugs and they look fine as well (slightly rich).

 

also yes i did see sparks in the rear view momentarily

 

he's running no cat, also with the intake and higher boost, you're probalby running pig rich thus causing your sparks well at least its just sparks and not full on flame thrower. You might want to get a safc unit and lean it out a bit. or get a ecu tune.

Most guys especially STi owners who get a turbo back with no cat will spit fireballs out of their exhaust, i'm assuming its the same case with your evo.

 

if ur running rich, wouldnt it cause the exhaust to throw flames.. not exhaust?

 

If you have no piggyback or flash you are running mega rich up top. I was running mega rich for a while but don't remember and sparks just black smoke. If you didn't get all the packing material out of your exhaust before you put it on, it could be some of that comming out.

haha no but the car seems to be running fine. i plan on getting the dynoflash mail in soon.

 

yea I spit fireballs when Im @ the track.... its pretty funny since the black smoke annoys the guy behind me
