I expect to see 350whp easy on a stock 150K mile motor with 750cc Inj, 255lph, 3" TBE, Extremepsi Intake, licp, Megan o2, 20G, 10.5T.

Got the wheel and hotside on last night, went perfect. It seems the car picked up some niceable power, the spool sound is also completely different and way more aggressive.

Megan o2, 10.5 hotside, 20G

Found that the wastegate flapper designs are different on 9.8 vs 10.5 (9.8right,10.5left)

All done!

this is cool man! my car has an evo 8 turbo on it now. I bought an old school fp green that should be going on hopefully soon, I have been told the green is slightly better than a stock 9. Maybe when I take my 8 off I will do this for a project. I do actually have a ported 10.5 laying in my basement also!! good stuff man.

Are these proven reliable upgrades? For the price, it seems like it can't be beat!

All together I paid 180$ for wheel and cover and 90$ for 10.5 housing, so roughly 270$ for the upgrade, so far the turbo picked up 45HP on the virtual dyno, the car is noticeably more powerful, the spool noise sounds awesome compared to stock.

This seems like something to do on a budget. Good for you OP, on your upgrade. Keep us updated on the durability of this upgrade. I noticed you did not answer the question about balancing the turbine?Does the turbine need to be balanced? Turbo builder gurus chime in. Either way good project.

Results are in!
________________
The car made 320HP and 300ftlbs on a dynojet at 25psi on 93 pump conservitaley.

Stock 150K mile motor with 750cc Inj, 255lph, 3" TBE, Extremepsi Intake, licp, Megan o2, 20G, 10.5T...Everything else is stock!

The turbine is balanced from the factory, the compressor wheel is balanced via the manufacturer.

Car still going strong with 156K miles on the stock turbo with the 20G wheel on it now for around 6K no issues! The car is getting a timing job soon and we are throwing some HKS 272s in that we have, hoping to make around 360whp.
