Precision 6466 Boost creep

I have 6466 on 2.4LR with JDL kit, precision 46mm wg. I am having serious boost creep issue. I am running vacuum off turbo. 6psi spring is yielding 25psi.

Anyone else running into this issue?

What rear housing on the turbo?
I had the same issue with mild creep on the V-Band high mount MAP kits as well with a Turbosmart 45mm Hypergate. Gate had a 21psi spring pressure and crept to 26psi.

I believe it's down to wastegate position and transition on the manifold.

Ok same setup as my client then.
0.82 V-band, he has had both a 6262 and 6466 fitted, both crept 4-5psi above 6k rpm.

I have another client also with a MAP turbo kit, this time a 6262, 0.82 rear with T3 4-bolt inlet and a Comp-gate40 Turbosmart gate.
This car has more the issues that you are experiencing. 17psi spring pressure, 25-26psi on the gate regardless of what we do. I do feel the wastegate is a little small for that setup though.

OP I have your exact setup. that turbo is meant to make some serious boost, there is no way your going to hold it back by using a 6psi spring. long story short your not going to get less than 24psi out of this thing. it will creep no matter what. so do yourself the favor, stick a 18psi spring in there and that will creep to 24 but let it rock!!

only way your going to control boost better is with a T4 setup and twin gates and you might still see slight creep.

I originally had 25 psi spring in it and it would hit boost cut at 32psi, changed it to 18psi and still hit boost cut at 32psi. I put 6psi spring in it to see if I can have around 25psi for pump gas. I wish I was getting around 24 psi which would be perfect for pump gas.

I am going to try bigger tube for wg. if that does not work, gonna do 2 wastegates.

I would try another known working wastgate before you do anything drastic.

yeah JDL FF kit here and tial 44mm and creep is very slight.. there should be no reason your creeping so much..unless the gate just isnt opening up.

WG opens up with air compressor & also while in boost. i am taking manifold off the car and sending it back to JDL for 2nd gate. These guys are top notch when it comes to customer service and product is great.

What are you running for a boost controller? I agree with an earlier post that you should have at least an 18psi spring.

One way to figure out if it is a wastegate issue is to run boost line directly to wastegate. If you dont have creep, the controller is the problem.

I tried 18psi spring and it crept over 32psi with vaccum source directly to wg. I looked at wg and everything seems ok with it. Wg is brand new precision 46mm.

Im guessing that the WG is sticking. I would try another once before you add another WG only to have the same problem and spend another $500.
