What's the best oil pan setup you can run for a 4g64 block with evo 8 head. I'll be making around 700-800 whp and need a good oil pan setup. What are you guys running?
Thank you!
Thank you!

AMS/Moroso pan. Expect it to fit like ***, but it works well once it's actually bolted on and sealed.

As he said, the AMS/Moroso pan is great if you want a normal pan. But for 5x the price of that, you could go to a dry sump

I'm just running OEM. But then again I'm just at a measly 613hp. Not at dry sump levels yet haha

872whp with the stocker here.
AMS pan would be nice but everyone has issues the fit and leaks. For the amount they charge, it should be a perfect fit like the stock pan.

^ agreed. Stock is great if you aren't turning right for long periods of time at high g's. Put some 235 tires on it, stay away from RH cloverleafs, and you won't need a panOriginally Posted by rodent

Any clearance issues with the ams pan windage tray and the 4g64 crank hitting each other?

I've been using Honda bond on my moroso oil pan 2.4. Just use a lot of Honda bond around the oil pump area and it will seal up. Never had any leaking issues. Only leak I had was from the oil return line.

I am near that power range and run the AMS pan. No leaks... I autocross my evo, so I wanted it for the extra protection.

A lot of you guys are saying your running the stock pan. Stock evo pan, or stock 4g64 pan?
Can anyone confirm that the oem 4g64 pan clears the transfer case etc?
Running a 64 block and 63 head
My oem 63 pan has multiple holes in it, also I need to weld a -10 bung in this for my ff setup.

Side by side they seem the same.Originally Posted by rodent
Stock Evo pan. The 4G64 pan is totally different so don't run that.
This isn't a track car, and I will never auto cross it either, that being said I am running the 64 pan. Just welded in the -10 return bung today
My 63 pan isn't useable...
