So I just picked up my first ct9a chassis last nite; a 2005 SSL, and the dude I bought it from said that the guy who had it before him flashed the acd such that it doesnt do anything now. so when i turn on the car, after about 3 minutes, all 3 ACD setting lights (Tarmac, gravel, snow) light up at once.

is it possible to reflash the acd so that it works like it should?

if so, how easy is it? can any tuner take care of it?

edit- acd pump and reservoir are *still* there, with fluid in the reservoir. and he says it should still have the acd t-case

 

You cant really flash the ACD. You can activate the pump,bleed it and a few other things with Evoscan and the right Tactrix cable.

3 lights means there is a issue with the system. Needs to be bled or the pump isnt working. Pretty common issue that the pump stops working.

Im not sure why anyone would flash it to disable its functionality; that doesnt make any sense to me...if I were you I would reach out to Aaron @ English Racing and see if he can help you out. He has the means to provide you a tuned ACD or would probably help you out with getting the ACD map back to stock.

There could also be an issue with your ACD system which is why its showing all 3 lights lit up. The ACD pump is notorious for having corrosion issues and causing them to fail especially in areas with high salt use.

 

Chances are it's an issue with the system and the guy you bought it from was either passing on what he had been told, or tried to play it off as being flashed.

Take it to a shop and have it serviced / fixed

Lol, anything can be fixed if you throw enough money at it...the 3 lights is like your check engine light for the ACD, there is some sort of trouble code and it could be the ACD controller or some other mechanical issue. Your ACD system could just need to be bleed. That would be best case scenario.

If you aren't that mechanically inclined I would recommend you take it to a reputable shop and have them diagnose it. Personally I'd steer clear of the dealer but thats just me. They certainly have the means to diagnose and fix the issue but it'll cost you an arm and a leg.
