Need help Evo 7 conrod replacement
This is my first post and time on the evo forum, so if this is a misplaced thread please ADMIN reallocate or deleted and i'll post elsewhere
I'm new to the High powered scene and have recently got an evo 7, great condition, low km's and runs pretty smooth
Had allot of the standard modifications, 3" exhaust, stage 2 cams, 1000cc injectors, lightened flywheel
The car is tuned at 22psi on the standard turbo with standard ecu for 98, its running at 252awkw
Now i was in conversation with some mechanic places and they kept trying to push me into an evo 8 or 9 engine swap, i'm not looking for all of that because the car cost me 18 grand and the quotes are sitting at 26+ grand for full new engine with ecu/turbo set up
What i want to do is get forged pistons and conrods, i've seen everywhere the weakness about the evo 7 rods and do not want that happening to mine seeming as it'
s apparently sitting in the danger zone for the power to snap the rods
What are some good pistons and rods should i be looking at, i am new the the scene so not too familiar with what i should be looking at
Would also be looking to upgrade the ECU to a haltech ps1000 and probably get it with the eflex sensor so i can swap between 98/e85 easier
Also would anyone have an idea on what kind of cost i'd be looking at in either AUD or USD depending on who's reading, The cost for forged pistons with conrods replaced with labour including any machining and what not for my engine, i've recieved some quotes and the best i can get is around 10k for them to more or less rebuild my engine with forged pistons and conrods, is that the kind of price tag that is reasonable?
Sorry for my "newbness" and thanks in advance
TL;DR I want to know what is a good conrod replacement for the evo 7 GSR aswell as forged pistons and what kind of price tag should i be looking at
Without loading up one question too much, Any suggestions on a turbo replacement aswell from the stock, i heard the garret gtx are good aswell as FP Green or Red but not sure if that was for evo 7 or evo 8-9
THANKS!
