evo 8 axles from other year evos

Hey guys i have been searching for a while on what axles will fit my evo 8. The question is will 05 evo 8 axles work with 03-04 evos without acd. Will evo 9 axles fit 03-04 evos? My cv boot is ripped and i figured i would replace the axle rather than just the boot. Does anyone recommend any brands or links for a passenger side axle. I did read a bunch of horror stories about some axles not sealing well with the transfer case and then causing the TC to fail.

Thanks for the input guys.

I'm not positive, but I believe that the Evo VIII and IX axles are interchangeable. As far as where to get them, I would call STM and see if they can order them for you. I wouldn't install downtown axles on my Evo, but that's just me.

I agree. I am almost tempted to just buy the cv boot remove the axle myself and just take it to a shop and have them replace the cv boot. I am over the hassle of trying to figure out if other aftermarket axles will fit my evo.

Do you have any info on the axle because I just bought axles from rock auto and the didnt fit properly so my car just leaks all the transmission fluid out. We checked the seals one was ripped so we changed it and I still have the same problem. Any advice would help. Thx in advance

Are you leaking transmission oil or transfer case oil?

Not sure what axels you got but I replaced both of my front axels 2 years ago with the Driveshaft Shop stock replacement axles and haven’t had any problems.

You have to be careful when installing the axels or when replacing the seals on the transfer case side or on the tranny side because if you push them too far in it will leak. It should be pretty much flush with the case. After I got my transfer case rebuilt they didn’t install the seal correctly and when I put it together and drove it the first time it was pouring out transfer case oil so I had to take it apart and reinstall a new seal.

I'm leaking transmission fluid it drains out but I was on another forum and a lot of people have the same issue and its usually what you brought up but I also need new axles for the front. Do you know if 03 to 05 axles are interchangeable without acd? Thanks in advance

If you search the axle part number you will find that its application is for all four years of US CT9A (maybe more years, but its a US based supplier).

Right Axle: https://www.mitsubishidirectparts.co...embly-mr580504

Left Axle: https://www.mitsubishidirectparts.co...embly-mr580503

You can find pretty much any part number by entering your vin (or searching) at https://partsouq.com/ .
