wat? I had to drain it quickly because the stm vented dip stick was just dumping straight oil into the catch can. Once I sealed that off and just kept the two head lines to the can there is no more oil being pushed into the catch can.

Seems a bit excessive.

I don't have to add a drop if oil to my engine and my catch can stays empty. Drained my catch can 3k miles ago....
My bb black seems to be good to go.

People forget to mention what kind of driving they do. Like I said if you baby your car and never do wot pulls, you'll never have oil in your catch can. I'm curious what power you guys are at? Crank case pressure goes up with more power correct?

Ha
I have been following this thread, any time I see FP BB turbo and oil leak my I'm interested. With that in mind this seems quite different than what I was experiencing, I always had quite a substantial pool of oil collecting in the intake pipe as oil was leaking from around the compressor wheel and I didn't have any oil collecting in my catch cans. Although I did have to occasionally top up my oil it was only every few thousand kilometers. Good luck to the OP.

I'm willing to bet everything I know its that 3000$ boat anchor of a turbo strapped on leaking oil past the compressor like everyone else that has ever had a dbb FP Red/ Black has experienced.

how bad are these things supposed to be leaking compressor side? is any oil in the intake tolerable? I've got no other source sending oil through the 4" SD intake and had a spray -- see first page of thread.

Any idea cost to convert this to JB?

Sell DBB turbo and buy a new JB if you want to "convert" to a JB. I am sure you could get your 1100 a new JB Black costs on a DBB unit after FP inspects it to verify it's condition.

I wouldn't recommend this though as DBB is much more robust.

It would actually be 1400 after buying a new oil feed line. But I still think even if you "lost" some money it would be less than converting an existing DBB turbo to Journal Bearing.
