New Clutch is in!!

Finally got my clutch installed yesterday! Its kind of funny how you get used to driving a car with a slipping clutch and how much you forget about how fast your car was with a good one ;-). I have about 13,000 miles on my evo and the stock one just about was gone. OEM disk was down to the rivets. Just for info, I've auto-crossed 24 runs and launched my car quite a few times. I know about 4 other people in RL with similiar driving habits, some more aggressive ;-), that have replaced their clutches around the same time...

I went with the Unorthodox Racing 6 paddle ceramic disk clutch setup and their lightweight flywheel.
Clutch feel is a lot softer than stock and it lets off a lot lower.
First experience driving it....I stalled It'll take some getting used to. Which makes me want to throw the restrictor back in. Just a tad too aggresive of an engagement!
Heres some photos....

Looking nice bro! Let us know how it holds up for you.

I had my ClutchMasters stage 3 in since November and it's holding up strong with another 4k miles on it and numerous hard launches. Knock on wood.

I am a mechanic on jets so most of the times I'll take on most projects on my own. This however, I paid a friend to do as a side job on a Saturday. I was there during the whole install helping along. I wouldn't suggest changing it out yourself unless you have someone along side you who has done it before. Its your car though If you've changed out clutches before... then it'll obviously be a little easier. Just a few troublesome spots here and there you'd have to figure out...
There is a lot more involved than I initially thought. The job took us about 5 hrs. About 40 or so minutes of that was spent trying to get the release bearing to disengage . It just wasn't being very co-operative...
If you're from South Carolina, and need a clutch installed. Drop me a PM and I can recommend you to an awesome Mitsubishi mechanic with awesome rates!

the Flywheel was somewhere around 490 or 510 ? I cant remember. The friction surface was $125 when it came time to replace it and if I remember correctly...was less expensive than the fidanza... The clutch was about $800. Pressure plate, 6 puck disk, release bearing and alignment tool...

Update: Re-installed my release solonoid restrictor and the clutch feel is MUCH better than it was without it.

Clutch is bled.... Have to do it anyways when you disconnect any of the hydraulic/brake fluid lines..

UPDATE: For those who might be interested...

20 months and over 52,000 miles later, clutch is still holding strong with a Vishnu Stage 1++ pushing 295whp DD pump/313whp DD and no signs of letting up! Taken it to the track twice and have autocrossed with it a lot.

Extremely pleased with the longevity of this clutch! *knock on wood* Especially since I hadnt seen too many people go with this setup and I felt like I was taking a big gamble!

Only complaints is the clutch rattle when off throttle and deacelerating in gear. But over 20 months of use I've gotten used to it. It's funny though having to explain to people what it is when riding along for the first time!

Looking to build up the whole engine when I get back from Iraq next year at looking at the Unorthodox Racing Feramic 6 puck clutch and buying the replaceable friction surface for the flywheel!
