Evolution 7 Forged rod and piston help

Had a small issue with my Evo 7 what originally looked like a blown turbo might have other damage

Still have the stock rod's and piston and looking to put in forged ones

Looking for suggestions aswell as good places to buy from i'm in Australia, sucks about the dollar haha

i was leaning towards Corello Rods with Manley pistons but looking for any advice.

Cheers and thank you!

Really comes down to your goals i.e. track or street, power goals etc etc. Can't go wrong with Carillo rods though

Are you on EvoOz mate? Sign up there for info on where to buy local, who can do the work for you etc etc

Thanks for the replys

It's a tough question, Right now it's only been on the track mostly however it's intended to be a sick street car, but i live right next to a raceway and they do "Happy" Laps and General practice days all the time and i can't not join in

It was tuned 21 psi and 252AWK so it was bound to blow eventually, looking to make it strong and hell and hopefully back to it's former glory with maybe slightly more power

Any thoughts on making it stroker?

You could build a 2 Litre long rod. 156mm rod and stroker piston. Gives you a higher rev ability, 8500rpm would be conservative. This is what I've just done. Going this way (2.0LR) is cheaper than getting a stroker that needs a new crank, a 2.0LR shouldn't cost you any more than a motor build with new rods and pistons, 156mm rods should be a similar price to 150mm rods (stock size). Unfortunately for us Aussies this is not going to be cheap, I wouldn't think you'd have any change from 7K and you'll need more for other stuff you'll want to do such as balance shaft deletes and the inevitable new clutch, and the 7K price is if you pull and reinstall the motor yourself, you'll need another 1.5 to 1.7K for someone to do that for you. Like they say "if you want to play you have to pay"
