Leaky FP Zero

Hey guys.

Little background.

English Racing built me a 2.2. I had a Zero ordered a year ago sitting around for this build specifically.

Fast forward to present day. The valve cover was almost 5/8" VTA which others seemed to have great luck with.

So the center section leaks oil and I spoke with Fp. He was willing to take a look at it if everything was setup correctly so I brought up the VTA valve cover. He explained it was never setup for that even thought I'm on SD and there was too much crankcase pressure causing oil to push by the seals.

Has anyone else ran into this? I have since ordered STM's new sealed can and the pcv will be the press in -10. Waiting on build time.

I should mention this post isn't to dog on Fp or their products. Just seeing if anyone else ran into something like this and what the solution was.

A lot of guys from Australia seems to have some issues with the pre-Xona FP OEM turbos. However, they never measured crankcase pressure so no one on EvoM had data to look through.

Check out the crankcase pressure thread. I think just the other day people were saying you need to draw vacuum on the line off the valve cover side in order to relieve pressure.

Also, if that doesn't work, you can vent the block. Check out the crankcase pressure thread. Lots of good info in there.

The back side vent would be closed on boost so the one on the side might not be enough to relieve crank case pressure. I'm using both vents to vent to the intake and it seemed to have solved the white smoke I had with stock IX turbo and 71hta.
