Shep Racing Rebuild

Welp......basically Im planning on cutting my losses with Mitsu. I dont have good feelings about the bastards making good on the crap job they did on my tranny. The clutch is adjusted, but now 3rd gear grinds to all hell. I got a great price estimate from John, now all I have to do is figure out what to do about getting the tranny out and over there. Opinions welcome.

Anyone ever drive to Sheps place and drop the car off? I'd love to do that, take a long weekend and leave on thursday, drive home with my bullet-proofed tranny.....otherwise, approx. how much is shipping from NJ to OH, estimate?

I hear nothing but good things about Shepered. But another option for you is to visit Turbotrix and talk to Mark and Keith. They can rebuild your tranny and also put assemble it better then factory spec.

They know there ****. and they are in New Jersey.

Well I doubt that they could do it over the weekend unless you work it out months in advance. Most shops I deal with or my friends deal with seem to take weeks to do stuff like this. I have no dealings with Sheppard, but I was thinking the same as you Feldguy...I would love a rebuild Shep tranny.

We have a double syncro 4th gear for the evo. Should be out in a week or two. We just put it in one of our cars. As for a rebuild, keith has done two already. John is great as well. We do the diffs for him in the 1g trannies. Very professional and def knows his stuff. Good luck

We have a core exchange program if you like as we have built evo 8 trannies in stock. A few day swap is entirely possible.

The evo t.case cannot be rebuilt but can be upgraded with 2 different style diffs.

This was true awhile back but the last 40-50 have all been done here. No problem with them but was easier to do them locally.

John, care to throw out a little detail about what you offer for the Evo? Is it the exact same work available on the DSM trannies? Upgrades and strengthening are the points of interest... in detail please. Anyone else doing the same type of work, feel free to post the same.
