ID Pigtail wiring

ID Pigtail wiring
So I searched everywhere and couldn't find an exact answer, or maybe I am looking too far into this.
On the 8 wiring for ID pigtails, what color wires go into the 1 or 2 slot on the pigtail?
I was told that they are not reverse polarity, I do not understand the wiring diagram.
Anyone be able to help me out on this.
