EVO 9 RPM jumping
EVO 9 RPM jumping
I drive an 06 SE 95k miles stock. I'm a big fan of evom, helped me save a few thousand on my car when i bought it new.
The check engine light came on and had to replace both front O2 sensors, that problem seems to be fixed but i'm noticing a quick jump in RPM between 3.5k-4.5k for almost a 1k jump in an instance.
I'd like to think i've taken pretty good care of the car and the dealer recommended I need to replace my clutch which at this many miles i can understand.
I wanted to ask if this is a common symptom when a clutch needs replacing or should i be looking for something else as well.
Done a little research and there have been a few people that said replacing the clutch will fix it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks,

Clutch time. That is the only symptom - well, until you get to the place where the car won't move.
BTW, it sounds like you are pure stock because you have to be pure stock to put that many miles on the OEM clutch. I am pure stock and when my clutch went at 98K I stuck in another OEM clutch. I love this new clutch, it is much better than the original. Anyway OEM is less expensive.

yup stock .. its my daily driver so didn't want to mess with it. Thanks for the reply its going into the shop tomorrow for a new clutch and flywheel so as long as i get another 40 miles out of it i'll be good.
I saw that the OEM is less expensive guessing most after-market ones are meant to handle more power than stock.
