Need help on what recirculating BOV I should use

Hello guys! I apologies this long question but I rather ask to get this doubt out of the way and I know most of you have been thru this path before and had perform upgrades wisely. So, I have been reading threads regarding BOV wether using a recirculating system of VTA. I got the part down that if my car is not using speed density sensors I will come across a lot of problems because of unmeter air and it could cause surges or running lean or rich if I use VTA blow off valves, is all for sound at this point. I'm not looking for how good sound a BOV makes but rather how efficient an intake system is and how well the performance and gains I could get with bolt ons. I'm currently looking to purchase the ETS short route intake system with a 3" thick intercooler on my evo 9 MR with stock MAF and stock turbo which later I'm going to upgrade. Pretty much the car is 100% stock except for the megan waste gate housing and 3" exhaust. I'm thinking on purchasing GSC s2 cams with GSC beehive valve springs with titanium retainers. While I'm there, I'm going to upgrade my valve stem seals and install ARP head studs. I'm going to upgrade my fuel pump with a walbro 255lph as well as some injectors (1300cc) So, I would like to upgrade my blow off valve from stock and my question is what BOV could I use with this intake system. what would you guys recommend to use without sacrificing performance. Thank you for you help in advance

Believe me your stock valve is good. I personally purchased evo 9 metal valve ( I drive an 8) and it held good 25 psi at wide open throttle spiking 31 psi. No leaks at all. If you want fancy and affordable bov/recirculating valve you can buy Tial QR which I have currently and I'm on speed density. It still makes good sound and not as loud as Q.

Had 2 of these, no problems with functionality until I mounted them directly to my charge pipe, cracked both of them

Now using a QR, no problems, back to the status quo.

Cobb DV has been good to me. Crushed stocker one is good too for something effective and cheap

This is a little concerning. Im looking to get a different DV on my car and I think Im looking at either the Synapse or the Tial QR. From a driveablilty perspective how are they?

I want one that obviously hold boost I, I only run around 30# but it also needs to be sensitive; I dont want an on and off switch. How would you say the 2 compare?

My car came with a Tial Q VTA on an aftermarket cold pipe. I replaced it with a Tial QR. Love it.

As in hard mounted to the charge pipe as opposed to rubber couplings on each side?

Correct.

Using my amazing flow chart here, this is how it was connected.

ETS Upper w/Tial flange
-
TiAL BOV Adapter Flange for SB and DV
-
Synchronic DV
-
Rubber hose
-
Intake

The way the flange connects to the DV, would lead to the DV body cracking. I don't have this issue with the TiAL QR as the connection point is beefier.

With the correct spring for the QR, I have absolutely no complaints / noticeable differences between the two products.

Interesting thanks for your feedback. That's a bummer about the Synapse being solidly mounted. I suppose I could get away with mounting it like the stock setup i.e 2 rubber hoses but figured I'd eventually weld the flange to my UICP from a cleanliness perspective. However your feedback makes me think otherwise.

As far as the correct spring for the Tial is it one that is included when you buy it or is that a separate piece? I apologize for such newb questions; I admittedly havent read up on DV's in years so its a little rusty. I do recall seeing threads on which port to use and which spring yada yada yada so curious what works best for you.

Im my application it'll see a 30-31# spike which it pretty mild these days. But seems the trick isnt finding a valve that can hold the pressure but rather one that can hold the pressure yet be mild enough in other conditions. Thats what im in the market for...

I used the black 8psi spring which is sold in addition to the BOV. The spring required will be dependent on your idle vacuum draw, per the chart found on TiAL's website. I idle between 10.9-12.1 psi due to cams, head work, and displacement.
