Really need help with this clutch/tranny issue. Please help
Hey guys,
So, as of the last few months I have been hearing a grinding/clicking noise coming from what sounds like the transmission area. This would only happen while in gear and driving at a constant speed (not accelerating/decelerating). I know I shouldn't have kept driving it while it sounded like that, but its my daily driver and since having a baby, I have not had the money or time to address the issue.
So, this morning the clutch dropped to the floor and will no longer disengage. It did it yesterday on the way home while pressing the clutch in to decelerate to first. I just lifted the pedal back up with my foot and pumped a few times and it came back for a bit. Now it only has about 1/2 inch of resistance and I am sure the clutch is bad at this point and need replacing. I did check my fluid levels, and they are fine too.
I am curious if this was a syncro grind issue, and if it is possible that I will need to replace the tranny too, or if this could be a dragging clutch, or even the TOB being busted and just rattling around in there before it finally went out.
Tell me what you guys/gals think!
Thanks
(I also just really want to get rid of my evo as sad as it sounds. Too much upkeep for the time/money I now have. So if anyone is interested, let me know. Has a build 2.4l and some basic modifications.)

It is not a transmission/syncros issue. It sounds like you need a new TOB and maybe a slave cylinder if it keeps dropping to the floor. Try to bleed the clutch and see if that helps first.
It could be the restrictor valve in the slave cylinder that's blocked or a faulty slave cylinder. Pull it's seal back and check for a leak. It could also be a collapsed release bearing which could have been producing the noise u were hearing.
