Buschur Hole in the head

I have had my Evo 8 for 6 years now. Bought it used and when I did the guy I bought it from said it had a stage 2 Buschur racing head. I was having my car tuned and got coolant in cylinder 1 while tuning. Sent the head to be inspected just to be sure and they came back and said the head was junk because there was a hole in the intake runner. Said the cuts were too aggressive and eventually due to pressure and the thinness of the wall a small hole is now there. First off has anyone heard of this or had this happen to them? Second does Buschur mark their heads at all? Third does Buschur do decent work on their heads? I thought they were a reputable shop. Fourth what are my options? Do I have to buy a new head or can they not just weld some metal in there and then smooth it out? Thoughts?

Your head is fine. Have someone reputable with a tig patch the hole. Then have them, or someone you trust to clean up the weld to match the port walls. This process is very common, however delicate it may be, people have been doing this for decades.

You could talk to Buschur about it and send it back unless that is who has it now?

current situation

So I have the head at a local machine shop. I was not sure if there was any definitive way to tell if its a buschur head or not. That'ss why I asked if they mark their heads anyway so I would know. Does anyone know the answer to that? Any way I told the guy to weld it. He said he tried but the hole it too far up there to weld. He said he will try some epoxy but he's not sure if it will hold. Have you heard of this situation before or is this guy just being a dick?

find a real race car machine shop and see what they say. not just some rando machine shop that does stock stuff all day.

If it had that issue I doubt it was ever ported by buschur because I haven't ever heard anyone have that problem. His stuff isn't overly ported, you can see in his flow numbers compared to other heads.

Most of his heads are O-ringed around the chambers so that is one way to tell.

You might suggest a product called marine tex if your machine shop isn't familiar with it. It's used by top fuel teams to fix stuff. It's awesome **** and I've fixed my own cylinder heads with it when you can't get into a spot to weld it.

If I remember correctly, wasn't this a problem with certain CNC heads (from someone other than Buschur)?

I am thinking about getting a second opinion. I also sent over an e-mail to buschur racing to see if they could help me out. The head was o-ringed so I am pretty sure its one of theirs.

Casting aren't perfectly the same. I know that every once in a while, when porting, they ruin a head.

I was told by another Buschur customer that his Buschur head had the same problem.
