Oil Catch Can question

So how often do you emptied your oil catch can? Does driving style affect this? I'm curious if this is a turbo only thing, and if all turbos should have one? I mean, if it's such a menace, why is such a simple thing not a standard feature?

I believe it woudl be frowned upon by the EPA, they really like all fluids to be self contained in a closed loop system.

I haven't actually emptied mine and I installed it in decemberish. A ton of oil has built up in the oil line going to it though.

I don't know how your can is mounted but when I made mine I made sure to mount it to where the lines going to the catch were at a constant downward slope so gravity could take care of any build up in the lines.

Yea, I saw your install over at the How To section, that was a pretty good idea. Do you notice any difference between a clean and dirty filter while driving? I keep thinking that the dirty filter will slow the flow of air through it, but don't know if it really causes any difference.

I tried doing that mitsu, but the location that my Cusco tank is mounted in, or the position, is preventing me from doing so .

I'm ripping everything out in a few weeks to clean everything up, i'll see whats going on then
