Evo 7 Trans into my Evo 9 MR

I need to get my 15 posts out of the way, so I figured I would start a thread. I'm about to swap in a JDM Evo 7 trans into my USDM Evo 9 MR. I'm taking out my built Shep 6 speed in favor of the 5 speed as I'm now fully built and will be going for pretty decent power levels, and would hate to grenade a built trans that I could otherwise sell.

I bought all of the parts for the 5 speed conversion kit, including the speed sensor. Is there anything else that I could be missing, since it's a JDM 5 speed versus a USDM Evo 8 5 speed?

Interested in the Trans?

I hadn't even thought of a price yet. $1500 plus shipping and PayPal? It has a little over 20k miles on it. I also have a full 6 speed conversion set up if needed I can toss in for another $250. Let me see if I can attach the invoice showing the work done

What all was done to it?(can't seem to zoom in with my phone) And if it's built, why the swap?
I have a 6spd now, just want the trans. 😃

It's a long list, so I zoomed in. I'm selling it because I don't know if it will handle high torque. I know Shep made something like 800hp on it, but I'm putting an FP black on my car and then moving to a 6266 eventually. The torque could possibly grenade it and then I'm stuck with a worthless core. So I just figured I would go 5 speed to be safe, and a buddy got me a hookup on a low mileage, cheap Evo 7 trans

I'll gracefully bow out, this time. Hard to find part, though. GLWS!

The speed sensor is most likely a hall effect sensor so as long as it fits properly it should be fine.

Just curious, Do you know the gear ratio of the final drive in the Evo 7 transmission?

JDM 7 speed should be the same as a usdm 5 speed as long as it isn't a Rs close ratio box. The wiring should be the same, if need be i can take a picture of the top of my box/wiring to help you out. These are very strong box's

Trans is Sold!

Thanks for everyone's inquiries. I was just going down the line by those that had asked for it, and it was purchased. I'm sorry I didn't get back to everyone's private messages, I had received over a dozen! Thank you all so much.

Bringing this back to see how everything is going with the JDM 7 Transmission. I'm about to purchase a full Evo 7 swap myself to put into my 9 MR and I've been looking for some info on it!

the project finally came together. I kept finding out I was missing this or that. Searching out tiny oil leaks now, I don't want it to leak a drop of oil. As for the trans! The gear ratio is incredibly short. In 5th gear, at 3000rpm I'm doing 60mph, give or take 1-2mph. Since this is a weekend toy and won't be used as a daily, or on any sort of road trips, this isn't a big deal to me, and will actually be awesome when staying in the power band of my FP black
