DBB FP Green/S2 Cams on Evo ix

I'm going to install a DDB FP Green with S2 cams on my Evo ix. Should I do the ARP head studs as well or are the stock one good enough for the power max of a Green Turbo? My theory is that I'm currently running 30psi on the stock ix turbo with no problems pushing 400whp , the stock head studs should be good for another 50whp. Also what are your thought on installing the cams without taking the head off. Car is low mileage well maintained.

leave it alone if the head isn't off.....but it needs studs, that HG is going to let go.

The tune is going to have the most affect on the health of the engine. The stock studs are installed all at the same time with a machine from the factory that can't be duplicated by anyone. I made big power on my stock engine/cams/studs but always used good fuel and have a great tuner. Others have also made big power on them.

The important thing to know is that more timing/boost is more cylinder pressure. You have to respect the fuel and parts limits.

Rattle anything hard enough and it will break.

Right now you are limited to about 400tq with stock rods so unless you work the boost controller well up top your overall power is going to be limited. Of course if you are building an engine or the head comes off you should upgrade them.

No problem with doing cams with head on car. Use Eurosport tool. You will have to mess with the timing belt. If you can find a work around for it god bless ya. But I had to remove belt and retime it. But as long as you have all the timing tools it is simple!

Many have replaced head studs one ate a time with the head on the car as well.

Good luck

I did head stud 1x1 method, springs and cam install in 6 hours. 30 psi and 3 years later. No issues with 1x1 headstud method. No leaks internal or external.
