ACD Problem -- Help!

Hey everyone,

So, today I was out driving my Evo 8 MR, and when I looked down at the ACD lights, all 3 were on (tarmac, gravel, snow). I was looking on other forum pages, saying that it could be because of the weather being too hot or the ATF-SPIII fluid being low. Well, my fluid is on the MAX line, but it is currently 85 degrees were I live. Not sure if that is the issue, or if there is something else that is wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

it shouldnt be from that temp. Check your Fuse link on the battery, I blew mine out on mistake once and it caused the 3 light fault code. Ended up being that

Chances are your pump is on its last legs and will need to be rebuilt/ replaced.

Ok, now for some strange reason the lights aren't coming on anymore... Maybe it is an electrical issue somewhere...

Yep thats how it goes your pump is toast. Mine did the same thing and the three lights wouldnt always come on but would do so more with extended drives, sitting stationary and during auto-x it was consistent after the first run so I do believe there is some correlation between heat and the three lights.

pumps corrode which leads to increasing tolerances in the pump... as a result of this when the weather is a bit warmer it will start failing..

This car was originally from New York State and lived on a top of a mountain where it snowed... So, yea, The salt most likely corroded it over the years... It already corroded the underneath... Rust galore.... Sadly.

Yeah its a blast in the snow but my seized LCA bolt that I dealt with years ago sucked. And funny you mention the gas tank. Thankfully mine last time I pulled the pump was still fine but we were putting a wally in my friend's evo a year or so ago and a few of the studs snapped which meant tank had to be dropped. Talk about a giant PITA for something that should have been a 15 minute swap. Oh and of course my corroded pump was a good time...

Yeah like we said your pump is toast. See if you can find a suitable replacement pump or pickup a rebuld kit and pull it apart. Good luck!
