Rev Limiter is 10K Bad Idea?

I have a question. How i have a few upgrades coming in for my Evo, now when i purchased this Evo it came with a built motor but everything else around it was fairly stock.

So the internals consist of :

- Forged CP Pistons 0.5mm Oversize
- Eagle H Beam Rods
- Kelford 264/260 Cam
- SuperTech Dual valve spring and Titanium retainer
- SuperTech SS Valves
- ARP Main Studs
- ARP Head Studs
- ACL Racing Bearings

I now what i wanna know is what would be the LIMIT on the Revs with those set of internals. Also where would be a safe to keep the limiter on? Right now it has been set to 7700.

What my goal here is to have the widest power band i can get with my new turbo coming in.

Thanks in Advance

eagle H beam are sketchy reving out your cams are small so no point in reving that high

with those mods I assume you have a smal turbo also....no point in reving that high not even with a 6466.....

As has been said, it all depends on your cams. Those are a super mild cam, so your current rev limit is appropriate. If you're getting a much larger turbo, consider getting a cam to complement it. Otherwise it won't be an efficent set up.

I doubt your gonna make power all the way to 10k. No need in my opinion. Unless your extreme tuners and run 288 cams and that gigantic 100mm turbo.

I take my car to 8k with a fp red stainless. But i feel it loses power about 7500

Your dyno sheet will tell you how far you can rev

No point revving to 10k. You wont make any power up there and just stressing the bottom end an unnecessary amount.

Limiting factor for the revs will be how well it is balanced and also rod bolts will most likely be the first thing to let go at the high RPM.

What is so hard about posting in the correct category?

These are not Dyno results

Wouldn't bad idea if your going to drag, ud actually wanna go past 10k but as far as ur question / setup that's like a 600 wheel max power with a good tune... Your springs are kinda overkill, harsh on the valvetrain and depending on the seat pressure might be robbing u horsepower.

Please don’t spread bad information.
The part about revving to 10k or over is complete BS.
I could argue there is not 1 person with off the shelf Eagle H beams that is revving their car to 10k RPMs.

Well I meant on a drag setup, of course not with those rods/setup that's why I said 600wheel ideally which gives an idea of rpm, his cams wouldn't allow it either.

Just set it at 10k and party.

But with that cam you don't need a lot of rpm. Also what turbo?
