Hks Evc

I have a HKS EVC EZii, which could be upgraded to become an EVC V. I set my knob to full closkwise position and the boost guage only peak at 1.4bar(20psi) and hold at 1.3(18.5psi).

Does the EVC V have this boost limitation? I'm thinking of upgrading.

Problem is that on the Evo7, the standard boost pressure is 0.8bar, therefore you need to take the oem actuator and screw it inwards a little more to raise the standard boost to at least 1.0bar and then you would be able to get more boost out of the evz ez.

I don't understand how the actuator can determine the boost, I thought that's the EVC's job. Is that why I get 0.8bar when the EVC is shut off? So the spring tension determines the boost???

yes, right now it is set up to 0.8bar, what I did when I had the stock turbo was to cut the rod a couple of mm to force the rod to come out of the actuator, that brought the boost to 1.0bar, the I had the evc set at 1.2 low and 1.6 high.

On the dsm it is much easier, you just undo the rod, screw it in a couple of rounds and put it back, but on the evo it is fixed, that's why you need to cut the rod.

thanks for the tips.
I have replaced my stock actuator with a HKS adjustable one. If I do screw it in a couple of mm, would it still have enough travel to open the waste gate flap all the way?
you running 1.6 sounds really hi, I am already worried running 1.4 without engine mod.
