EFR7163 or 6758

Hi,

I was hoping for some help of dyno plots of EFR7163 vs 6758 on a 2.0 Evo 7-9

I had a look over the MEGA BW EFR turbo thread but didnt find much on the 7163 vs 6758.

Im looking to build a 400whp street car on pump gas. I have only recently came to the Evo side but come from a few moderate power Subaru's.

I was thinking of a exhaust manifold and twin scroll IWG EFR would give me the best chance of spool either turbo as quick as possible and hopefully hit 400whp.

Any recommendations if I am heading in the right track. I was also looking at a GTX3071 as I loved this turbo on Subaru street car.

Thanks
Dan

7163 twin scroll is easy choice if you are ok with spending a little more for bit more sophistication.
6758 is not a realistic choice for Evo: nicd on Miata though-Trackspeed Engineering makes nice kit.

400whp on pump gas on DJ can be achieved safely in few ways:
FP 71HTA mod to OEM 10.5T turbo will get you there
FP Green
HKS 7460 (most responsive fastest spooling)
BBK-Full (obsolete by CBRD but Blouch - the actual manufacturer actually still offers it under different name)
EFR7163 Small frame (most sophisticated/modern)
EFR7063 Big frame

You need cams like GSC S2 or Kelford 272, or HKS 274/278.
Valve springs, I suggest beehive from GSC or a Kiggly
Injectors, from ASNU, FiC, or ID
Exhaust(stock frame turbos are not limited on pump fuel by OEM downpipe)

Thanks for the informative info, I am leaning towards the EFR as I think I will always wander how much better it would of been!!!

Fuel wise i will use a in tank pump and most likely ID1050x injectors.

Am i going to make any gains for going with a fullrace (or equiv) exhaust manifold? Or at the power levels I am aiming for is it not that critical?!

Thanks
Dan

You may consider going with "hot kit parts" I am using, the equal length SST321, T4 twin scroll, with large runners for improved response, bottom mount, 3" V-band DP with Flex joint, lower IC pipe to match.

Advantage over Full Race,
it's equal length, and large runners header.
Downpipe fits tightly up, does not hang down limiting ground clearance
Downpipe is seriously cheaper then Full Race
Lower IC to suit included

PM me and I'll connect you to manufacturer.
